Mrs Bertha Thurman Lemmon Beutler, 68 wife of A. W. Beutler of Afton died Wednesday afternoon July 6, at 4:15 p.m. at the Star Valley LDS Hospital of a heart condition and other compilations, after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9 at 1 p.m. in the Afton North Ward chapel, with Bishop Milton Erickson officiating.
Visitors may call at the family home at any time Friday or Saturday before the services.

Prayer in the home was by Gordon Reese.
Prelude and postlude music was played by Herbert and Laura Andersen.
Opening and closing prayers were given by Jack Kellersberger and Lyman Beutler.
Speakers were Bishop Ray S. Thurman, Pres. B. Delos Gardner, Bishop Merlyn Cook and Bishop Milton E. Erickson.
Music consisted of a vocal duet by Verenda and Leif Walker, "MY Grandmother's Old Fashioned Garden", and a vocal solo by Ernest Turner, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine".
Interment was in the Afton cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Eden Beutler.

Pall bearers were Arthur Linford, George Linford, Dallas Linford, David Lemmon, Melvin Thurman and Garth Read.
Bertha Thurman Lemmon Beutler was born at Hyde Park, Utah March 7, 1887 a daughter of Edward Moroni Thurman and Lovina Griffeth Thurman. Her father's family came to Star Valley in two units and she came with the first group when just a little over a year old and settled with the family at Grover. These were early pioneer days in the valley and she grew up accustomed to hardships. She went to school here and spent her entire life in Star Valley.
She was married to Arthur W. Lemmon Sept. 8, 1909 and all her children were born to this union. Mr Lemmon died Nov 17, 1924.
She married A.W. Beutler on Aug 17, 1929.
She was a diligent worker in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life, and served many years working in the Primary and Relief Society organizations.
She loved flowers and gardening and always had a beautiful yard and good garden. She also excelled in handiwork and won prizes in Lincoln County Fair exhibits.
She was loved by family and friends and was hospitable, kind and understanding.
Survivors include her husband, A. W. Beutler, one son, Lyle Lemmon, Auburn; two daughters, Mrs Bert (Glenna) Linford, Afton and Mrs Gordon (Delpha) Reese, Layton, Utah; a stepdaughter, Mrs Carl (Lucille) Stock, Layton, Utah; 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; the following brothers and sisters: Edward and Ray Thurman, Grover; Andrew Thurman, Provo, Utah; Charles Thurman, Blackfoot Ida; Melissa Read, Inglewood Calif.; Matilda Currier and Hattie Alleman, Afton; Katie O'Keefe Osmond; and Nellie Dewey, Emmett Idaho.
