Daughter of Francis B. "Frank" & Mary Jane "Jennie" (Dunn) Colgan. Wife of Edward C. Purcell, m. Feb 26, 1919.
Obituary:
Elizabeth Purcell, 92, of Christian Buehler Memorial Home, Peoria, formerly of Princeville, died Tuesday, May 21, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born Nov. 16, 1892 in Stark County to Francis B. and Mary Jane Dunne Colgan, she married Edward C. Purcell Feb. 26, 1919, in Dunlap. He died Sept. 5, 1952. One grandchild, four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and its Altar & Rosary Society.
Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Edward Purcell of Rock Island, Joseph Purcell of Princeville; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Ellen) Boylan and Jo Anne Ringness of Peoria, Mrs. John (Betty) Murphy of rural Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother; T. Clement Colgan, and one sister, Sarah Bruemmer, both of Peoria.
Services were held at Friday, May 24, in her church with her son, Father Purcell, officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church or Akron Princeville Ambulance.
