My cousin Leon Dingman, son of my Uncle Silas and his wife Thelma. I didn't get the chance to meet him. He passed away much too soon. I pray my cousin rests with our Lord.

Leon married his first wife Vivian in 18 Mar 1967. Vivian passed away at the age of 19 years.

Leon C. Dingman, 49, of Hamilton Street, Albany, died Monday at his home after being stricken.
Born March 5, 1948 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Silas L. Dingman and Thelma Smith. He was educated in the Fort Plain schools.
Mr. Dingman was employed at Albany Recycling.
He lived in Albany for 18 months. He previously lived in Sharon Springs.
Mr. Dingman was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include five sons, Mark Bailey of Dolgeville; Daniel Dingman, Shane Dingman, and Timothy Dingman, all of Canajoharie; and Leon C. Dingman Jr., of Elmira; two daughters, Neesha Bateholds of Nelliston and Valine Dingman of Canajoharie; a brother, Larry Dingman of Fort Plain; a sister, Diane Tompkins of St. Johnsville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours. Burial is private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are by the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Canajoharie.
