Cliff was born in Pleasant View Ward, Provo, Utah in 1913.  He spent his first 5 years living on the family farm.  In  abt 1918 his family moved to Park City, Utah to work in the mines. His family then moved to Riverton, Utah in abt 1921.   Cliff attended schools in both Park City and Riverton.

In 1930 at age 17 Cliff moved to Midvale, Utah where he lived at 559 E. Center Street with his brother Karl Pedersen and worked at Karl's Texaco Service Station on Center Street and State street gaining experience as a . automotive Service Mechanic.

During the depression in abt 1931-1932 he worked   in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps (CCC) in Southern Utah  (Zion Park), sending money home to his father to help make mortgage payments on the family farm in Riverton, Utah.  

In abt 1932 Cliff moved to and worked in the mines in Park City.  

In 1936 he married Eliza Bernice Simmons of Park City and started his family. Their son Harold was born in 1936 and a daughter Diana Marie in 1937 both at their home at 511 Heber Ave in Deer Valley with the assistance of Dr. Harold Goodwin. Diana lived just 4 months dying in 1938 from Pneumonia.

Their family continued living in Park City until early spring of 1942 when Cliff bought a small home from his father and moved his family to Riverton, Utah.  

There he worked for Riverton Chevrolet as an auto mechanic for 2 years. in 1944 his father Karl died and Cliff and his brother Kris made a property swap giving Kris the big and little house for his large family on the Pedersen farm, while Cliff took possession of his brother Kris's house.

Their 2nd son Thomas (Tom ) Pedersen was born in 1945 in the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah

Cliff worked at the Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake city in early 1944. 
Later In 1944 Cliff and his brother Jess operated the Road Service Garage in downtown Salt Lake.  Cliff then moved his family to South Salt Lake in Oct 1945.

In the Summer of 1946 on the advise of his friend Cecil Fairbanks, Cliff moved to and worked as an automotive mechanic in Baker, California, moving his family there in Jan 1947.  The Fairbanks family had helped settle Baker, California many years before,

Later that year his brother Jess and his family joined him in Baker as well as his nephew Wilbur Pedersen and his family from California. They all worked at the same automotive business owned by Chet Huffman.

Then in 1946  Cliff and his brother Jess bought Central Auto Service at 263 Main Street in Park City. They operated this business as Pedersen Motor Service. He continued there in Park City until his accidental death in 1948.
