Karl was one of eleven children born to Jacob Pedersen and Maren Kristina Christensen.
After his parents and seven of his siblings died young, the four surviving brothers emigrated from Ringkobing, Denmark to the USA (Utah and Idaho) from 1889 thru 1896. Karl emigrated on Feb 21,1889 on the SS Hekla II sailing from Copenhagen Denmark thru Kristiania (Oslo), Norway arriving in the New York harbor on March 8, 1889.

His brothers are:

Kristen Svendsen Pedersen (1866-1934)

Jens Pedersen (1871-1901)

Anton Pedersen (1875-1935)

Grandpa Karl Nielsen Pedersen often voiced this Lords Prayer to his children and grandchildren.

"Thou no gods shalt have but me.
Before no idol bend the knee.
Take not the name of God in vain.
Dare not the Sabbath day profane.
Give to thy parents honor due
Take heed that thou no murder do.
Abstain from words and deeds unclean.
Steal not, for thou by God art seen.
Tell not a willful lie, nor love it
What is thy neighbor's do not covet".
