Died, at Peoria, Monday evening, Nov. 1, 1909, Dr. John Albert Jones, of St. Louis, Mo., aged 61 years, 10 months and 2 days. John Albert Jones, the son of John Albert and Marie Jones, was born in Tremont, Ill., on Dec. 29, 1847, and came to Springfield with his parents in 1867. Soon after he entered the Charity hospital at New Orleans as a resident student, and three years later received his medical diploma from the Medical University of Louisiana. He commenced the practice of medicine in St. Louis, where nearly all of the subsequent years of his life were spent.
Dr. Jones was genial and kind-hearted, and his many patients will testify to his kindness and devotion to them. His death, although sudden, caused by valvular disease of the heart, was not entirely unexpected.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Isaac V. Goltra of this city, Mrs. George Hunt of Chicago and one brother, James T. Jones, also of this city.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at the residence of Mrs. Isaac V. Goltra, 506 West Monroe street. Interment will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
