Died, at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2, 1908, at the family residence, 1015 South Sixth street, after a brief illness, Mrs. Ann Maria Jones, aged 88 years. Deceased was born in Hopkinsville, Ky., Aug. 20, 1820. She was the daughter of William T. Major and Margaret Shipp and came with her parents to Bloomington in April 1835, and was educated at a young ladies' seminary at Hillsboro, Ill. She was the widow of the late John Albert Jones, for many years clerk of the United States circuit court for the southern district of Illinois. She was for many years a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church and in 1888 she became identified with Christ church.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. John A. Jones of St. Louis and James T. Jones of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Louisa Goltra of this city and Mrs. George Hunt of Chicago, widow of the Hon. George Hunt, late attorney general of Illinois, and is also survived by Mrs. George Bradner, of Bloomington, a sister.
The funeral services will be at the residence Tuesday afternoon. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
