Taken from obit: Pleasant Colbert Chastain, 88, died at his home on Route 1, Phillipsburg, at 9 o'clock Tuesday evening, October 7, after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Thursday in the Lee's Summit Church, conducted by Rev. H.E. Robertson, with burial in the Flatwood Cemetery under direction of Holman's Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Frances; eight daughters, Oma Auberry, Myrtle Myers, Marilyn Magee, Mary McGuire, Shirley Chastain of the home, Bertha Elliott, Minnie Anglen, and Anna Long; five sons, George, Homer, Warren, P.C. Jr. and Donald; 42 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
