Elizabeth Harper Simmons Provstgaard passed away June 15, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 83.

Born Oct 30, 1917 in Spring Lake, UT to William Tell and Ellen Elizabeth Butler Harper. Beth grew up in Spring Lake, UT and graduated from Payson High School.

Married Donald Hyrum Simmons Aug 1938, later divorced. Married Merl Frank Provstgaard, Nov 1947; he preceded her in death. They were married 47 years. Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Beth spent her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors, travel and family activities. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various church positions.

Survived by her children, Gene Simmons (Pearl), Salt Lake City, Ronald Simmons (Dee), Salt Lake City, Judy Webber (Bill), West Valley City; two sisters, Virginia Twede, Alice Smith; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Merl Provstgaard; son, Jerry Clive Simmons; two granddaughters, Beverly Simmons, Leslie Dawn Simmons; parents; brother; six sisters; half-brother; and four half-sisters.
