IRENE M. PHILLIPS, 84, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Adams County, she was a homemaker, secretary for Missionary Church Denomination and was also a District Rep for Tupperware. She was married to Lorris Phillips on June 3, 1944. She was a member of First Missionary Church. She loved her family, grandchildren and enjoyed people, gardening and reading. Survivors include daughters, Lynette (David) Getz and Luann Phillips, both of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Sally (Jordan) Taylor of Fort Wayne; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Augsburger of Muncie, Corinne Moser of Berne and Dessie (Delmar) Neuenschwander of Berne; and brother, Milton (Pauline) Habegger of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorris, in 1993; sisters, Rufine Pharr and Aldine Habegger. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at First Missionary Church, 701 W. Rudisill Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Jim Johnson and Pastor Todd Habegger officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class Missions.
