A Steamship Engineer for a merchant shipping company and later a Machinist and Metallurgical Enginer for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, Angus Shops, he retired in 1941. He was called back into service during WWII and remained in that position again until the end of the war.
He died in Montreal on the 6th of April, 1964, husband of the late Agnes Rowe, and dear father of Marion (Mrs. R. Clayson), of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Eillen (Mrs. L. Burrelle), in his 88th year. His funeral service was held at the Armstrong Chapel on April 10th, 1864 and he was interred at Mount Royal Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, mourners were asked to send donations to the Montreal Children's Hospital.
