Mr. Lonnie David Bass, 84, passed away February 7 at the Cook Convalescent Center in Adel, Ga. After a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held February 9 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Meadows and Rev. J. E. Autry officiating. Active pallbearers were his grandsons. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born in Grady County on September 10, 1890 to the late Pem and Amanda Wynn Bass. He married Irene Fulford, who survives, in 1911 and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene F. Bass of Pelham; 5 sons, Leo and P. L. Bass of Pelham, Othell Bass of Albany, Acie Dell Bass of Phoenix City, Ala., Aaron V. Bass of Tifton, Ga.; 4 daughters, Mrs. Roscoe Willis of Pelham, Ga., Mrs. W. D. Walters of Lenox, Ga.; Mrs. M. D. Willis and Mrs. Donald McKenzie; 29 grandchildren and numbers of great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ray Morrell and Mrs. Lillie Johnson both of Pelham and Mrs. Lonnie Rollins of Ochlocknee. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham in charge of arrangements.
