Vonnie Leo Bass, Sr., 91, of 608 Dogwood Drive, Pelham, died Sunday, October 10, 2004, at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Braswell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Macedonia Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Goodlett is the officiating minister. The pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
Bass was born Oct. 22, 1912 in Grady County, son of the late Irene Fulford Bass and the late Lonnie David Bass. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter.
The survivors include his wife, Mable Akridge Bass; one son, Vonnie Leo Bass, Jr. Of Pelham; two daughters, Sharon Daniel of Pelham and Ann Lockhart of Albany; three brothers, P. L. Bass of Pelham, Aaron Bass of Tifton, and Othell Bass of Hampton, Va.; one sister, Helen Willis of Thomasville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Bass.
Visitation will be held from 1 until service time on Wednesday. Braswell Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
