Grew up in NYC and moved to Brooklyn NY with her family before 1915. In 1920 she was employed as a dressmaker's apprentice.

Married to John Dazzo on April 15, 1925. Marriage Certificate Certificate no.5376 from NYC Municipal Archives. Ceremony took place at St. Rosalia's R.C. Church in Brooklyn, NY.

Edith and John had one son named Jack born circa 1927. Jack Dazzo became a well-known cartoonist and animation artist.
