Ida Catherine Austin, 70, of Route 1, Thornton, died Tuesday, September 7, 1993 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1923, in Thornton, a daughter of the late George Fredrick and Minnie Catherine Nine Hargett.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred A. Austin, who married her on December 24, 1941; three daughters, Mrs. Fay Hedrick, and son-in-law, Paul, of Thornton, Mrs. Ann Bott, and son-in-law Don, of Byesville, Ohio, and Mrs. Marlene Stevens, and son-in-law Jeff, of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, who died in infancy.
Ida was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, of Grafton. . . . funeral will be today . . . Burial will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown.
