Betty D. Fontz, 78, a homemaker who lived her entire life in Millersville, died of natural causes Oct. 4 at her home.
Mrs. Fontz was born Sept. 17, 1930, to the late Barbara Tesar and Albert Franklin.
She belonged to the Christ Lutheran Church in Millersville and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Annapolis Forest.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and attending church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gilson J. F. Fontz Sr.; four brothers, Edward, Harry, Albert and George Franklin; and one sister, Barbara Duvall.
Survivors include one son, Gilson J. F. Fontz Jr.; five daughters, Anne Marie Fontz, Nancy J. Gardner, Susan G. Fisher and Darlene R. Corbin, all of Millersville, and Betty F. Duncan of Maui, Hawaii; one sister, Shirley Pumphrey of Millersville; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Wednesday at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 Second Ave. S.W. in Glen Burnie. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, 8249 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, MD 21108.
