Services Held Saturday for Jens. P. Dahl

The community was saddened last Wednesday, May 29, by the death of Jens P. Dahl, a lifetime resident of Diamond Lake twp. He had been in poor health for the past five years, but had been around much as usual until the previous week.

On May 23rd he was taken to Tyler hospital for treatment, and passed away there at 4:50 p.m. the following Wednesday.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 1, at 1:30 o'clock from the home and at 2 o'clock in the Danish Lutheran church, Diamond Lake, the Rev. Paul Nussle officiating.

Two nieces, Mrs. John Worth and Mrs. Ralph Nordmeyer sang "In The Garden" and "Jesus is Calling", accompanied by the church organist, Mrs. H. Meyer.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Art Hanson, Sigurd Nielsen, Henry Black, Johan Krog, Carl Tambo, and John Schmidt. Mrs. Henry Black, Mrs. Johan Krog, Mrs. Wendell Hanson and Mrs. Art Hanson were in charge of the flowers.

Jens Peter Dahl was born on Aug. 14, 1891 at Lake Benton, the tenth child of the late Andrew and Dorthea Dahl. He was baptized and confirmed in the Diamond Lake Danish Lutheran church, and has faithfully maintained his membership through the years. He had attained the age of 65 years, 9 months and 15 days.

On Oct. 6, 1928 he was united in marriage to Helen Nelsen of Lake Benton. One son, Lloyd, was born to this union.

Jens was active in the affairs of his community, always willing to lend a helping hand. He served several years on the school board, and at the present time was a town board member and a director of the Local National Farm Loan Ass'n.

Besides his beloved wife and son, he leaves to mourn his departure, a siser, Mrs. Harry Bridenstine of Des Moines, Ia.; one brother, Fred, of Arco; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and six brothers.

Among those attending the last rites from a distance were Mr. and Mrs Harry Bridenstine of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. R. Mercer and family; Minneaopolis; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dahl and faimily, Madison; Mrs. Orville Kuiper and children, Watertown, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs Joe Panneck and Thomas, of Sioux Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Odin Furesvik and Michael, Garretson, S. Dak.; Kenneth Fehrman, Long Praire; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nelsen, Sioux City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs Harry Nelsen, Slayton; Mr. and Mrs Harold Kragh and son, Montevideo; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson and Ardis Johnson, Minneapoplis; Mr. and Mrs Fred Baumann, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bauman of Gary, S.D.; C.N. Evenson, Marshall; H.A. Springer, Porter; Miss Buelah Bornhoft and Geo. Bornhoft of Wayne, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. A.K. Sandager, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sammon of Farienheight.

Many were also present form Tyler, Verdi, Arco, Ivanhoe and Lake Benton.
