Funeral Services For Percy A. Grass Held At Ewing Tuesday
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, October 14th at the Catholic Church at Ewing for Percy A. Grass, 66, who passed away at his home there on Friday, October 10th. Father Peter A. Burke officiated at the last rites and burial following the cemetery at Page, Nebr.
Percy Anthony Grass was born at Merrysvale, Mo. on Sept. 24, 1881, the son of Lucy and Nicholas Grass. In the same year the family left Missouri for Nebraska, stopping in Boone County, where the family resided for a few years, then came on to Holt County to a homestead northwest of Page.
On December 30, 1903 Mr. Grass was united in marriage to Grace Campbell in O'Neill. To them were born ten children, seven boys and three girls. The children surviving are: Edward of Tekamah, Nebr.; Mrs. Constance Hartford, Oakland, Oregon; Harold of Elkiah, Calif.; Arthur of Page; Elton of Yoncalla, Oregon; Arnold of Hatfield, Mo.; Mrs. Darline Cunningham, York, Nebr.; Mrs. Shirley Stewart, Vancouver, Wash.; Morris of Inyokern, Calif. One son, Bernard, preceded his father in death on June 30, 1939. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. L. K. Hough, of Seattle, Wash.
