REGISTER - Bobby Bowen, 57, died late Monday morning in the Gracewood Hospital in Augusta after a sudden illness.

He had lived in Gracewood for the past 21 years and was a member of the Lower Lotts CreekPrimitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by four brothers, Dr. John B. Bowen, Dearing, W.B. Bowen and Burton O'Neal Bowen, both of Register, and R.D. Bowen, Valdosta; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Hicks, Midway and Mrs. Mildred Kennedy, Statesboro; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Bowen will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of the Smith-Tillman Mortuary. Burial will be in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body will remain in the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary until the funeral hour.

Smith-Tillman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
