The Bulloch County native was a resident of Fairburn several years and was retired from the Georgia Department of Argiculture in the Atlanta. He was a member of Fairburn First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Glennis Strickland Bowen of Fairburn; five brothers, Dr. John B. Bowen of Dearing, W.B. and Neil Bowen, both of Register, Rowe D. Bowen, Jr. of Gray and Bobby Bowen of Gracewood; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Hicks of Midway and Mrs. Mildred Kemmedy of Statesboro; and two grandchildren.
Funeral: 2p.m. today at Wright's Funeral Home in Fairburn, burial in Fairburn. Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro, local arrangements.
