The funeral for Prinnie "Penny" Brady Compton, 76, of 1915 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, who died Sept. 24, 2008, at her home, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Rich Acres Christian Church. The Rev. Tim Hunter will officiate. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the church and other times at the home.

She was born in Carroll County on July 9, 1932, to Dewey Brady and Dora Marshall Brady.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Compton; a son, Sammy Compton; one sister, Lovelene Handy; and one brother, Eugene Brady.

She was self-employed as a beautician and was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Robin Rigney of Martinsville and Samantha Cline of Midlothian; a son, Eddy Compton of Cincinnati; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Rich Acres Christian Church Building Fund, 422 Mountain View Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
