1905 Regular Army Enlistment Document on Ancestry entitled: U.S. Army, Register of Enlistments, 1798-1914: mentions William was enlisted in the regular army on June 12th 1905 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. He was enlisted in the Regular Army for a 3 year period term. He was 21 years and 6/12 Months old at the time. He had brown hair, brown eyes with a white dark complexation from being a farmer. He was 5 feet 10 1/2 inches tall. He was honorably discharged on June 11th 1908 at West Point, NY. His service term had expired. He was in the Infantry Division Engineering United State Military Academy (West Point, NY). He was in Excellent Health and Fitness at the time of his discharge.

William Edward Sooder,(sic) who with his brothers-in-law, E. B. Dugger and W. W. Cotton, comprised the Central Hardware Company of this city, died Tuesday, April 6, at 4:25 p. m. of consumption. Funeral occurred Wednesday at 2 p. m. conducted by the pastors of the Methodist Episcopal and Baptist churches.

Deceased was only 25 years old, just in the flush of early manhood, was quiet and unassuming, attentive to business and his early demise is regretted by all who knew him.
