Janice Kay Switzer, 61, of Alton, MO, was born Aug. 13, 1943 in Black Pond, MO and died Jan. 21, 2005 in West Plains, MO. She was the daughter of the late Asa Lee and May Austin Lee. She was united in marriage to David Switzer on Oct. 23, 1970 in Miami, OK.
She was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband David, of the home in Alton, MO; four children, Cindy Blackman and husband Steve, of Alton, MO; Darron Lee and fiancé Annette, of Alton, MO; Susan Arasmith and husband Kevin, of Alton, MO; and Amber Switzer of Alton, MO; four step-children, Patricia Benedict and husband Dale, of Hermitage, MO; James Switzer and wife Sharon of Bates City, MO; Charles Switzer and wife Carolyn, of Lathrop, MO; and Barbara Newell and husband Jim, of Kingsville, MO; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Cacciapaglia of Henderson, NV; and Pauline Woodruff of Alton, MO; two brothers, James I. Lee and wife Peggy of Timber, MO; and Gary Lee and wife Anna, of Mesa, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Odean Lee; Hazel Bales; and Betty Robinson; and one brother, Richard Lee.
Funeral services were Jan. 24, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, MO, with Pastor Joby Steele officiating with arrangements under the directions of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. of Thayer, MO. Burial in Smith Cemetery.
