Alvah R. Bell, 78, died Friday at Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital in Rockledge, Florida. His home was in Cocoa, Florida and he was a former resident of St. Francisville. Born on December 22, 1900 in Ridgway, he was a son of George and Abigail (Foster) Bell. He is survived by his widow, Bessie Bell, of the home; two sons, John H. Bell of Merritt Island, Florida and Robert R. Bell of Cookeville, Tennessee; one daughter, Kathleen Holaday of Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Inez Hart of St. Francisville, Mable Moye of Carmi, and Lola Boyer of McLeansboro; and one brother, Howard Bell of Fort Branch, Indiana. Mr. Bell was a member of Stellar Lodge No. 912 A. F. & A. M. in St. Francisville. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home in St. Francisville with Rev. Jon Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
