Funeral rites for Lawrence L. Bell were held Friday at Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home in St. Francisville with Rev. Harold Holiday officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery. A 75 year old retired St. Francisville grocer, Mr. Bell died Wednesday at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1898 in Ridgway, a son of George and Abigail (Foster) Bell. He married Naomi Holland, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Abigail Bell of St. Francisville; one daughter, Doris Dale of Lawrenceville; one son, Howell Bell of Greencastle, Indiana; three sisters, Mable Moye of Carmi, Lola Boyer of McLeansboro, and Inez Hart of St. Francisville; two brothers, Alvah Bell of Cocoa, Florida and Howard Bell of Fort Branch, Indiana; and five grandchildren. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville Elks Lodge No. 1208, Order of Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge. The family requests memorials be made to Lawrence County Cancer Society.
