Frances Barbara Curtis was the daughter of Benjamin Patton and Mary Eliza Ashcraft Curtis. The Curtises had eight children, with only six of them, all girls, living to adulthood. Frances (Frank) was the youngest. She was a redhead like her mother.

Frances married Albert Ernest Williamson 12 Apr 1905 in Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas. Her husband, A. E., was a merchant, served several terms as county treasurer, and was active in community theater. Frances, on the other hand, loved the outdoors and animals, and ran the family farm.

Frances was an active member of Eastern Star for over fifty years.

She and A. E. had three sons, one of whom became a doctor, the other two civil engineers.
