He was born July 4th, 1923 in Zell, the son of Valentine Nicholas and Emma Ludwein (Huck) Jokerst who both preceded him in death.
He married Patsie R. Wood on June 6th, 1953. She survives in Perryville.
He is also survived by three sons: Ronald L. Jokerst of Perryville, Kevin C. Jokerst of Perryville and Nicholas E. Jokerst of Ste. Genevieve; three daughters: Carolyn M. Brandon of Perryville, Kris Niccum of Perryville and Cheryl A. Winschel of Biehle; three brothers, Victor Jokerst of Ste. Genevieve, Jonas Jokerst of Ste. Genevieve and Flavian Jokerst of Ste. Genevieve; two sisters: Bernice Baumann and Erlyn Wehner, both of Ste. Genevieve; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leander Jokerst and a sister, Charlotte Grogg.
He was a retired auto mechanic and World War II U. S. Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church and Holy Name Society at the church in Brewer, American Legion Post No. 133, Ste. Genevieve VFW Post.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 25th and 8-10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26th at the Christ The Savior Catholic Church in Brewer. A parish wake will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday with a VFW wake at 7 p.m. and an American Legion wake at 7:15 p.m. at the church.
A funeral for 85-year-old Oswin W. "Osie" Jokerst of Perryville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26th at the Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer. The Rev. Bill Rhinehart CM will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military graveside service will be provided by the VFW post from Ste. Genevieve.
Memorials may be made to masses, the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau or Christ the Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.
