Frances Phillips was born to Olin and Jimmie Mae Phillips in Harris County, Georgia. In high school she was a basketball star and attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia.
Only July 26, 1927 she and Herman Usher were married, and the couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1977.
Mrs. Usher was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Usher, her oldest son, Donald, and her granddaughter, Jane.
She is survived by two sons, Walter Warren Usher and wife, Tillie, of Conroe, Texas, and David Hugh Usher of Willis, Texas, her daughter-in-law, Mrs Donald Usher, and grandsons, John And Jim Usher, and three grandchildren of Ocala, Florida, and one brother, Earl Phillips, Of Pine Mountain, Georgia.
