Mr. Earl Jackson Phillips of Pine Mountain died Saturday at the Brian Center in LaGrange.
Mr. Phillips, born Feb. 10, 1911 in Harris County was the son of the late Olin & Jimmie Cummings Phillips. Mr. Phillips graduated in 1933 from the University of Georgia and became a Civil Engineer with the State of Georgia and later became the owner of Phillips & Douthit Grocery in Pine Mountain. He was a member of Pine Mountain United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He was a former councilman and former Mayor for ten years in Pine Mountain, former member of the Chipley Development Council and Chairman of the Harris County Board of Education.
