Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Community Presbyterian church (sic) in Ruskin for Lovell O. Thayer, 77, who died suddenly Saturday at the home of his son, Marvin, near Ruskin. He passed away minutes after he fell in front of the home and before he could be moved to the hospital. He had lived in the Ruskin vicinity for 74 years.

The Rev. Lincoln Justice and Rev. Thomas Moranville officiated at the 2:30 services. Burial was made in Spring Creek Cemetery.

Lovell Orean Thayer, son of Bion and Estella Thayer, was born near Roseville, Illinois – November 21, 1880 and departed this life at the home of his son, Marvin, near Ruskin, Dec. 7, 1957 at the age of 77 years and 16 days.

At the age of four he came with his parents to Nebraska settling on a farm near Ruskin where he spent his entire life.

He was united in marriage to Alma Gertrude Jones, Nov. 25, 1903. To this union were born four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Faye Snyder (Lois) deceased, Mrs. Jerome Kohl (Genevieve) of Hardy, Nebr., Mrs. Earl Corman (Dorothy) of Superior, Nebr., Mrs. Ivan Troudt (Fern) of Nelson, Nebr., Marvin Thayer of Nora and Loren Thayer of Superior.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma, Jan. 11, 1949 and his daughter Lois July 11, 1957.

Surviving are his five children, eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Grace Magee, of Englewood, Colo. and his two daughters-in-law and four sons-in-law.
