SARAH HESS, the daughter of Jacob Hess and Mary (Daniels) Hess, was born 12 December 1827, in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., (now Fulton) Pennsylvania.
She married her first cousin, Adam Hess 4 September 1853, in Monroe Twp, Clearville, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.
In 1859, Adam and Sarah purchased land from her parents. They also purchased land from her brother David Hess on 20 March 1863; land from Abner Lanehart 18 August 1866.
Sarah died 17 April 1868, from complications of childbirth, in Fulton Co. Pennsylvania. She is buried next to their infant daughter at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fulton Co., Pennsylvania. Sarah and Adam had two daughters.
