Peter C. Meyer was born to Soren and Maren Meyer on August 25, 1897 at Lake Benton, Minnesota. Here he grew to manhood and farmed for seven years.
On July 19, 1919 Peter was united in marriage to Ann Marie Christensen. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. His wife Ann Marie died on March 5, 1926. On September 28, 1935 Peter was married to Lydia Steinbeck Ayres and she passed away on April 19, 1950.
Peter moved away from Lake Benton and worked as a truck driver until 1944 when he moved back to Lake Benton and did carpentry work until his retirement. He has lived at the Valley Manor Apartments until he became ill and was taken to Minneapolis on February 20th of this year.
Peter departed from this life at North Memorial Hospital on March 16, 1979. He had attained the age of 81 years, 6 months and 21 days.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Stanley Meyer of Minneapolis;Thelma ( Mrs. Eldon Showalter) and Soren Meyer, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 1 step-son Maurice Ayres also of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 6 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Ruth Kjar of Denmark.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives and two infant children.
