Maren Meyer Laid to Rest at Diamond Lake

Funeral services for Mrs. Maren Meyer, who passed away last week Thursday at her home in Brookings, S. D., were held from the Diamond Lake church Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the Diamond Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Maren Meyer was born November 30, 1866 in Tauslet Mark, Kolding, Denmark. She came to America in 1887 together with her sister, Kristine. On September 4, 1888 she was united in marriage to S. M. Meyer. They lived on their farm in Drammen until 1915 when they moved to Lake Benton. Mr. Meyer died seven years ago, and Mrs. Meyer for the past two years, has made her home in Brookings, S. D. with her daughter, Ruth.

Since she at Christmas time had the flu, her health has been failing her. Before she passed away, on April 30, she had arranged everything so far as it was possible, and was waiting for the hour when God would call her to her heavenly home.

The Meyer family has always been faithful members of the Danish Ev. Lutheran church.

To the marriage union were born eight children and five are left to mourn her departure: Hans, Anna, Christ, Peter and Ruth. She is survived by a brother, Mathias Andersen, of Diamond Lake, a sister in Denmark, and many other relatives.

The family has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this community who deeply sympathize with them in their bereavement.
