Ella Mae Campbell was the daughter of Francis Marion "Frank" Fritz and Susanna (Susan A.) Barrickman. She had two half-brothers, Charles A. McDonald ((1868-1919) and John Richard "Dick" McDonald (1872-1920). She was the fourth child born to her parents and had the following siblings: Francis Marion "Frank" Jr. born 1873; Martha Elizabeth (1875-1952) married Curry; Lillian Agnes (1876-1963) married Miller; Emma Frances (1882-1937) married Curry; Georgiana (1884-1947) never married; Grover Cleveland (1887-1971); Mary Estella (1890-1942 married Osman.
Ella married Lewis William James Campbell, a widower, with four young children. Ella never bore any children and raised her step-children as her own. She died in Summit Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and was buried June 19, 1967.
