Martha Elizabeth Fritz was born in East Brady, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Francis "Frank" Marion Fritz and Susanna (Susan A.) Barrickman. She had two older half-brothers, Charles A. McDonald (1868-1919) and John Richard "Dick" McDonald 1872-1920). Her other siblings are: Francis "Frank" Marion (1873-1950); Lillian Agnes (1876-1963) married Edward Miller; Emma Francis (1882-1937) married Jesse "Jay" Lawson Curry; Georgiana (1884-1947); Grover Cleveland (1887-1971); Mary Estella (1890-1942) married Arthur Franklin Osman.

She married December 4, 1901 to a widower, Uylsses Sidney Grant Curry who had 4 children.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Curry, 616 Eau Clair St., will observe their Golden Wedding anniversary on Tuesday. A quiet celebration is planned as Mr. and Mrs. Curry have been in ill health for a number of years. Mrs. Curry is the former Martha Elizabeth Fritz, of Petrolia, and Mr. Curry is a former resident of Clarion county. They resided in DuBois for a few years after their marriage and came to Butler to live in 1909. Mr. Curry was a teamster. The couple are the parents of eight children, five of whom are living. They are Howard Curry, of Butler R.D. 2, Miss Ruth Curry, at home; Mrs. Dorothy Garris, M.R. 10; Mrs. Alberta Duffy, M.R. 11; and Mrs. Helen Felsing, M.R. 10. Their daughter, Mrs. Georgia Hurley, died last April. Mr. Curry also has a son Stephen by a former marriage. The family group also includes 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grant Curry. Mrs. Martha E. Fritz Curry, 77, died at 12 noon yesterday in her home, 616 Eau Claire St., after a lingering illness. Mrs. Curry was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Grant Curry, a son, Howard J. Curry of Butler R.D. 2; four daughters, Ruth M. Curry at home, Mrs. Dorothy Garris of Butler M.R.1, Mrs. Alberta Duffy of Butler R.D. 5, and Mrs. Helen Felsing of Butler M.R 10; a brother, Grover Fritz of Karns City; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Campbell of Petrolia and Mrs. Ed Miller of Kittanning; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
CURRY--Friends of Mrs. Martha E. Fritz Curry of 616 Eau Claire S., who died Sunday, April 20, 1952, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunninghm St., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home, with Dr. Jacob W. Carr, of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Geibel.
