The second son and seventh child of nine children born to Larkin Wilburn White and Catherine Lenora Cherry White. He married Myrtle Elizabeth Brackeen on July 25, 1927, and they had a son, Johnnie Wilburn Leon, and four daughters: Beulah Faye Catherine, Myrtle Mae Willeen,Hazel Cardell Amanda and Lena Belle.

He was a gentle man but firm in his principles. He would never spank his children while he was upset but always waited until he calmed down and that made the waiting for his children worse...not knowing when the spanking was coming but knowing that it would happen.
He worked hard all his life but took time to play dominoes and other games with his four sisters and his children and grandchildren. He loved to be with family members and could spend hours telling "tall tales" about the happenings of his family in earlier times. He was a neighborhood favorite for all the children around and would spend hours playing games with them and keeping them occupied.

A brother, Luther Monroe and three sisters, Edna Adell, Betty Lenora and an unnamed infant, died at an early age in childhood. A grandson, Donald Ray Holder, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, Son, Johnnie White and his wife, Marcella; daughters, Faye Drake and husband, Stew, Mae Holder and her husband, Dennis, Dale DeShong and her husband, Tom, and Lena Thomas and her husband, George; Sisters, Lena Snodgrass of Ringling, Ok., Rosa St.John of Tarpon Springs, FL., Addie Davis of Sulphur Springs, TX., and Bessie Geisler of Waco, TX.; his 24 Grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
