Clara Pennington McDade Jones 93 passed away Tuesday September 16, 2008. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Milledgeville. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 1700 North Jefferson Street in Milledgeville with interment in Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bishop Mike Weltz will officiate her services.

Mrs. Jones was born March 19, 1915 in Baldwin County. She lived most of her life in Milledgeville and a short time in Gainesville, Florida. She was the daughter of Ollie and Cora Pennington who preceded her in death. She was the owner of Clara's Beauty Salon for 25 years and co-owner of E.S. McDade grocery on Vinson highway. In her early life she was very active in local and state politics. Her hobbies were were painting, dancing and genealogy. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her beloved husband E.S. (Ennis) McDade, her brothers, Grady, Charlie, Erby Pennington and a sister Mary Herring.

She is survived by a half brother Perrin Harrington, her only child a daughter, C.Ennise Burke and husband Hugh, one grandson Joseph (Joey) Slayton Burke Sr. and wife Tammy of Milledgeville, two great grandchildren, Angel Burke Barber and husband Erick of Eatonton, Georgia and Joseph (Slate) Slayton Burke Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mrs. Jones "Nanny" will forever be remembered by her loving family and her friends.
