After his marriage to Agnes, he moved to Fargo where he was at the time of his death, April 18, 1983, at age 93.
John Built his first home him self the land was just south of Cavalier. He needed to have the house built before he could get married to Clara. (who made that rule I'm unsure). After his fathers (Johann Alfred Nickolaus Harz) death John bought his farm. This Farm was then passed to to son Lloyd.
Military Service: Inducted at Cavalier on July22, 1918, sent to Camp Custer, Michigan ; served in the 160 th Depot Brigade to Sept. 5, 1918: Company E, 78 th Infantry, till discharge. Discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa on Feb 7, 1919 as a Private.
