Katy Lee Whitten Clay was born in Lamar County, Texas 28 Aug 1892 to Marion DeKalb Whitten and Lillie Belle Pinson. She married John Robinson Clay and they had two children, Katherine Clay and John R. Clay, Jr. Katherine died as the result of an accidental fall at the age of two in 1924. She was survived by son, John and three grandchildren, Johnny, Katherine and Mary Ellen Clay; and daughter in law Virginia Ladell O'Daniel Clay.
