He is survived by his widow, Doris Grace Watson Whitten, son, Robert Watson Whitten and a daughter, Doris Grace Whitten Kamarit. Also surviving Mr. Whitten are step-mother, Lillie B. Pinson Whitten; sisters Oma T. Read and Alma R. Wall; half-sisters, Lennie L. Strickland, Mary E. Gartin, Kate L. Clay; half-brothers Turner Martin Whitten, Clifton Manton Whitten and Al Brousius Whitten.
