Hays -- Emma C. Brungardt, 73, Hays, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Brungardt was born Emma Lang on March 20, 1925, at Hays.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays.

Her husband, Alvin, died in 1987.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth L. and Wayne J., both of Hays, and James L. of Russell; three brothers, Alex Lang of Hays, Virgil Lang of Kansas City, Mo., and Mike Lang Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; six sisters, Irene Staab of Hays, Irma Silkman of Goodland, Ida Groff of Phoenix, Edna Critchfield of Hill City, Pat Riot of Topeka and Mary Jane Sowards of St. John's, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays, the Rev. Don Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A parish vigil will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays.

Memorials may be made to the Cardiology Department at Hays Medical Center. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays 67601.
