Wayne M. Mutchler, 71, formerly of Main Street, Burgoon, died Saturday at Bethesda Care Center. He was born in Fremont to Fred and Iva (Long) Mutchler and attended Jackson-Burgoon High School. He married Joan Livingstine on Nov. 19, 1949, and she survives. Mr. Mutchler retired as a foreman from Basic Inc. He was also a member of the Basic Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Burgoon United Methodist Church and the Fremont Moose. Also surviving are sons Lloyd D. of Burgoon and David A. of Tiffin; daughter Barbara Jones of Bettsville; four grandchildren; and sisters Mary Damschroder of Graytown and Wanda Nighswander of Bettsville.

He is preceded by brother Freddie and sister Rebecca Mutchler. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Engle Funeral Home, Bettsville. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Smith Cemetery. Memorials: To the church's elevator fund or the care center.
