Hershel Eugene "Gene" Creech, age 82 of McHue died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born June 20, 1926 at Floral, Arkanas to Jeffrey Eugene and Ora Lee (Ellis) Creech. He was a retired insurance salesman, retired carrier for the Arkansas Democrat Gazzette and the Batesville Daily Guard. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roy Creech and Hubert "Turk" Creech and three sisters, Lois Apple, Audrey APple and Ethel Barber.

Survivors include his wife, Winona Creech of the home, two sons, Donnie Creech of Locust Grove and Gary Rush of Newark, three daughters, Brenda Parker of Alred, Teresa Dale of Cushman and Ruth Ann Phillips of Batesville, one brother, Edward Creech of Batesville, one sister, Floy Mohlke oF Batesville, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the White Drive Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Adam Longo officiating. Burial will follow in the Kyler Cemetery located at Southside with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.

Visitation will begin Monday, August 25, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Dale, Eric Anderson, Jeffrey Phillips, Randy Coldwell, Jeffery Parker and Dan Farris.

Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Barber and Tom Dodd.
