Graveside services for Leverne Keith Annis, 77, were held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside National Cemetery. He died Thursday of heart disease at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center.
Funeral services and friends called from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Arlington Mortuary in Riverside.
Mr. Annis, who was born in Blue Earth County, MN, lived in Riverside 17 years. He was a self-employed truck driver in the produce business for 35 years in Minnesota and a diesel mechanic in Riverside until he retired in 1987.
He served in the U. S. Navy as an aviation machinist from 1942 until 1945.
Mr. Annis was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Arlington Post 9223, and American Legion Post 289.
He is survived by four sons, Arthur and Scott, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Leverne Jr. and Daniel, both of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold and Robert, both of Lake Elsinore, Dean of Spencer, Iowa, and Boyd of Plymouth, MN; and a sister, Arlene Kehoe of Gilbert, MN.
