Rachel Morgan Turner, 63, of Salisbury, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at her residence.Born Dec. 19, 1942, in Rowan County, Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late Carrie Lentz Morgan and Harvey Morgan. Educated in Rowan County schools, she was a cook and assistant manager, first with Tamarac Marina and then with Morgan School.Mrs. Turner was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.Preceding her in death were her husband, James Everette Turner; brothers Tom, Curtis and Floyd Morgan; and sisters Ann Lee Starnes and Ruby Hunsucker.Surviving are son Ricky James (Kathleen) Turner of Collinsville, Va.; daughter Lisa Turner Holshouser of Salisbury; sisters Betty (Jerry) Peacock, Troy (James) Mills and Marie (Robert) Aldridge, all of Salisbury; grandchildren Savannah Holshouser, Brad Holshouser, Trent Turner and Travis Turner; and great-grandchild Autumn Wrey Turner.Service: 4 p.m. Sunday at Lyerly Funeral Home's James C. Lyerly Chapel with the Rev. Lori Hefner, Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church cemetery.Visitation: 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Lyerly Funeral Home
