Harriet A. Leighow, 65, of Millville R.D.1, died Friday at 12:09 p.m. at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 5, 1925 in West Hemlock Township, Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Myrtle Ande Pursel.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millville, and its ladies aid. She was a licensed practical nurse doing private duty nursing for more than 30 years.
She was a graduate of Danville High School, and her entire life was spent in Montour and Columbia counties. Since 1946, she lived at her present address.
She is survived by her husband, J. Kenneth Leighow. They were married Feb. 6, 1946.
She also is survived by two sons: Dale E. Leighow, Center Street, Millville; and Brian E. Leighow, Bloomsburg R.D.9; two daughters: Mrs. Donald (Anita) Houseknecht, Lairdsville, and Mrs. Ken (Amber) Johnson, Millville R.D.2;and a brother, Lee Pursel, Milton.
Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Melvin (Lavona) Robenolt, Danville R.D.2; Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Snyder, Millville R.D.2; Mrs. Daniel (Charlotte) Stark, Danville R.D.1; and Mrs. Jacob (Barbara) Swisher, Bloomsburg R.D.4.
Nine grandchildren also survive.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 75 Walnut St., Millville, with he pastor, the Rev. James Bramer, officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Hills Cemetery.
