Mrs. Smith died April 14, 2004, at Evergreen Care Center. She was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Sisseton, S.D., to Ira and Hattie DeGroot Casjens. She married Wilson Smith in May 1946 in Las Vegas.
Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Larry Olson of Altadena, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law John and Chris of Richmond, Texas, David and Edie of Caldwell, Idaho, and Mike and Terry of Carson City; sisters Zee Steffenhagen of Long Beach, Calif., and Ruby Casjens of Bellflower, Calif.; brother, Bert Casjens of Camano Island, Wash.; and granddaughters Janelle Smith and Stephanie Smith-Williams of Carson City.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
