"Civil War Veteran - Quartermaster- U S Navy - Having served on the Gunboat USS Louisiana from 25 July 1861 through discharge 26 July 1864 at New Bern, North Carolina. He was pensioned by the US Navy Application File Number 49383 and Certification Number 10781. He had been admitted to the Veterans Home at Sawtelle, CA 1895 and was discharged in April 1898."
