Charles W. Dreiling, 83, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Homestead Health & Rehabilitation in Garden City.

He was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Salina, to Joseph D. and Catherine Knoll Dreiling.

Mr. Dreiling had lived in the Garden City area for most of his life. He worked as a custodian for Gibson's Discount Store, St. Mary's school and church, Coca-Cola and Reeve Cattle. He also worked as a delivery person for Wells Robinson Furniture and Mullin's Furniture. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 2795, both in Garden City.

On Nov. 13, 1965, he married Esperanza Hope Delgado in Garden City. She died May 16, 2002. He also was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joe P., Al, Godfrey, John and Wendell Dreiling; and three sisters, Elizabeth Knoll, Rosie Smith and Catherine Miles.

Vigil service and rosary was at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Funeral Mass was at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
