Garden City -- Elizabeth "Lizzie" Knoll, 94, died Sept. 21, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City. She was born May 3, 1906, at St. Peter, the daughter of Joseph D. and Catherine Knoll Drieling.

A Garden City resident since 1927, she was a homemaker and worked at St. Catherine Hospital and at Garden City Laundry. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, TOPS and the Christian Mothers, all at Garden City.

On May 1, 1923, she married Pete Knoll at St. Peter. He died July 24, 1985.

Survivors include: two sons, Ed, Garden City, and Albert, Borger, Texas; a daughter, Odelia Wasinger-Stalter, Garden City; a brother, Charles Dreiling, Garden City; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, with a Daughters of Isabella rosary to follow, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father James E. Baker presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, both at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City. Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral home.
